I'e been doing my own oil changes every 10k miles with Mobil1 5W-30 since the 5K interval with the dealer ended at 60k miles or so.

New tires at 50k miles replaced with Michelin hydro tires.

I carry my 10 foot surfboard with the front passenger side seat folded back and the rear side folded forward with the head rests removed.

I've been averaging slightly more than 50mpg. The milage is better in the summer than the winter.

At what mileage are people finding that they need to replace brake pads?

Regards
Dave
Forgot to mention that transaxle oil was replaced at 60k miles. :-)

Just crossed 100K, in my 2005 prius. Question: Has anybody changed the inverter fluid that toyota recommends at 100K? Ticket writer indicates it costs $450 and then it has to be performed every 50K thereafter!

Another 100K miler here, an early 2005 model.

I had the transaxle fluid changed at 60K, due again (along with the engine and inverter coolant, which I will do myself). Also changed the plugs at 100K.

Extended warranty and great dealer cooperation meant my two HID lamp replacements were covered (including the lamp assemblies), and of course the S/W update and steering repair.

No other issues, save for a recently failing driver visor, which I'll see the dealer about soon.

Can't complain, drives like new, feels like it's gonna go another 100K before even breathing hard!

I just crossed the 100k mark in my 2006. I never had any problems with the car during the first 100k miles, except for replacing the original tires at 40k. I put on a set of Goodyear Assurance Comfortreds, which are getting close to needing replacement now (just over 60k on them). I need front brakes for the first time and my driver's side HID headlight is going. Not bad for a car with this many miles on it! Overall, I can't say enough good things about my Prius! It has probably been the most trouble-free car I've ever owned!

Thanks to some posters here, I did replace the inverter coolant and the transaxle fluid just prior to the 100k mark. I had the dealer inspect these items (while it was still under the extended warranty), just to make sure they were going strong. So far, so good!

I now have 100,800 miles on my 2004 Prius (purchased in July 2004 after an eight month wait), and it's still going strong. I've had regular scheduled maintenance servicing, changed tires at 27,000, 62,000 and need a new set of 4 now. The only problem was at 85,000 when I needed to have a bad water pump replaced. I've never had a car for this many miles and I still love it. I think I will wear out the interior before the mechanical stuff wears out!

It still runs great and I expect that it will for quite some time.
Love your quote I remember that show use to watch it all the time that one was the best!

Just went over 100k with my 08 pkg 2. Other than an initial alignment, no problems.
Nokian WRG2 @49k
Transaxle oil at 60k
Just bought coolant and inverter pump for engine and inverter coolant change.
Dino 5-30 every 4k till 60k, synt 5-30 every 8k since.
Mileage for my 200mi+ daily rounds has varied from 44.2-58.3 dependant on traffic and weather, usually in the 52 range.

I am more than satisfied with my Prius, looking forward to the next 100k!

Bought on 11/8/2003, I have 115,600 mi. on my 04. Never been happier with a car. Just got a state inspection done and brakes (original) are still excellent with lots of wear left - they said I may never need them the way it is going. The only item I have replaced on the car was the muffler, probably a victim of all the road salt used here. I replaced the transmission fluid and spark plugs at 100,000 mi. and got the engine and inverter coolant replaced at 115,000 mi. Also had them replace the drive belt for the oil pump and check the 12 volt battery, which is still great at 60%. I plan on going for 200,000+ miles and then trading this in for the upcoming small hybrid pickup truck that Toyota will introduce in 2012 just in time for my semi-retirement.
