OK, I've had a Prius for nearly two years, my wife has had one for six months now. And we *still* get a giggle out of the concept of "Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle".

x = 0 / 2;

I guess they didn't want to complicate it by saying "Part of the time zero emissions".

My emissions are not as good as yours. We only get x = 0/3 from our PZEV. Or is that better?

Keep in mind that non-hybrids can qualify for a PZEV rating.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PZEV
Quote:
In order to qualify as a PZEV, a vehicle must meet the SULEV standard and, in addition, have zero evaporative emissions from its fuel system plus an extended (15-year/150,000-mile) warranty on its emission-control components, which incidentally covers the propulsion electrical components of a hybrid electric vehicle.[/b]
And in California, there are many cars that qualify:

It's on another list for hybrids. See http://www.driveclean.ca.gov/en/gv/vsearch...vehicletypeid=7.

Unfortunately most of those cars on these lists are not PZEV's for Colorado. , maybe the Cobalt and the Mazda3 and thats about it.
