I do believe it has been noted that we on PC tend more towards the geek than the gear head end of the spectrum. There ARE occasional disruptions to this pattern.

And it's not quite so easy to do the ASCII direct input on most laptops--adding the function key into the equation makes it a tad more difficult!

As to the original question, pre-Pri, if I did even 5k/year, it was remarkable. Since I got the Pri (May 10, 2006), as of today, I have just a hair under 27k on it (that's with two cross country roundtrips...never did even one before, and wouldn't have done any since, but it all seemed suddenly POSSIBLE with the GPS--not built-in--laptop w/WiFi, cell phone, etc., etc., etc, without which I couldn't have done it solo, which I did eastbound once and westbound the other time--DH and son did one direction, and DH & I did one other--and PC friends en route were FANTASTIC along the way[s] ...I'm pretty sure that's more than I've driven in total since I got my license in 1976.

If I got the Pri to save gas, I'd have to say I'm a total failure.

I have a 60 mile round trip commute every day (15,600 + miles per year) which is why I bought the Prius, but I love driving it so that makes the trip more tolerable.

Hm, you're right. That was a pretty silly mistake. Of course, once you compute the 25.4K from the typical daily average, you then have to add the 3800 back in to the total, so the predicted annual total is about 29,200.
