I made the mistake of buying Goodyear Comfortread tires to replace the OEM Integrity. I chose them because the salesman said they would have better tread wear and better mileage. (I already got 50K out of the Integrity so that was not an issue for me.) He was VERY WRONG about the mileage.

Since the installation I average 12% worse gas mileage. Stay away from the Comfortread if gas mileage matters to you.

I'm wondering whether the new Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max will give better mpg than the Integrity.

I have had the goodyear viva 2s from walmart and they lasted about 40,000 miles. Thats with regular alignments and inflated to 40/42 psi.

Here in TX, NTB (National Tire and Battery) does a TBC Tempest Touring tire. I didnt lost any mpg from the Viva 2's and they lasted 55,000 miles. Which isnt bad for the $60 a piece I paid for them.

Out of all the replies I got only one person mentioned how the MPG was affected by their tire choice. That person said he/she lost 2 miles per gallon by selecting another Goodyear tire. I have been satisfied with the stock tires and I did not want to lose any mileage with another tire so I feel I made a good choice based on your feedback in my experience. Once again, thank you all for your feedback.
Check if your tires were made in the USA. Integrity tires made in the USA are not the same as those made in Japan. You will see a small decrease in MPG with the US made tires (in addition to an apparent decrease due to a lower revolutions per mile of unworn tires).

Of the tires mentioned earlier, Michelin MXV4+ tires would slightly improve your MPG and the Nokian WRg2 tires (I have the earlier model WR) would improve your MPG by about 4%. Either would improve the handling of your Prius.

My current MPG records can be accessed by clicking on the "more info" button below.

Absolutely DO NOT buy the Goodyear Integrities!!! Mine were gone @ 30K. Toyota replaced them free. The edges were completely worn out. I got the other tire they offered. The Yokohama Avids. I now have 18K on them and they don't appear worn at all. The Integrities edges were thin at 15K. Any tire you buy will get lower mileage for the first 5K. I average 47mpg and it lowered for awhile but now it is back. ANYTHING but the Integrities!!! JUNK!!!
