Default Interesting Prius-Hacking article from the days of yore, with pics of the '99 prius dash and mfd

I just came across this, It's all greek to me on my current lack of sleep, but apparently someone was unhappy with the regen system on his 09 prius and changed it! Alas, it seems some bells and whistles did not make it to the classic or HSD Prius. Do you think the TV actually stands for a TV in the dash, or something else? It's funny that some buttons are labeled in english and other are Japanese.

Interesting, but the regenerative braking system in the current HSD Prius is a large improvement over the system described. The Prius just keeps getting better...

Yeah, but Y.O. is piloting a Classic, which could actually
benefit from that mod. However, there's probably a more elegant
way to do it in the electronics side than Julian's circuit...

Oh! I was actually thinking this bug would have been fixed by 2002, but maybe not? Could this be what you were talking about earlier, with too much friction braking?

It's a TV. Japanese-spec cars have had TVs in their cars for decades now (earliest I know was early 90 with those bulky in-dash screens lol).
