Friends: 0 | Yes. The dealer that I'm buying the car from. He got my deposit yesterday. I don't understand your point. You're suggesting that I didn't give him enough and that he won't call me when my car comes in and get a sale? Instead, he will pass me over and go to another person? Whatevs. |

Friends: 1 | Hi--fellow Michigander here. Driving a Prius will be a big change, give yourself time to get used to it. Gas prices have hit over $4/gal in some places in metro Detroit. You will be glad your engine shuts off when you're not using or needing it!! Using the MFD will change your driving habits if you watch it at all. It will be amazing how much you can save if you use good driving habits. There is no point in getting to the red light first, just coast up and then beat everyone off the line, because YOU don't have to slow down! (tee hee You will take a MPG hit in the winter here, but so will every other car on the road. I don't know about the high end bit--my last car was a Focus station wagon but my Prius is the nicest car I've ever owned. I really like the smartkey, the backup camera, all the secret compartments and the nav system (even tho people complain about the factory nav--it gets me to where I'm going!) Hope you can get it soon and enjoy your new ride! Donna |

Friends: 0 | Prime: thanks. My Charger does about 18-19 MPG summer, 15-17 winter. Percentage-wise, I'd *guess* both cars suffer the same drop, give or take. |

Friends: 0 | With some grill blocking and an engine block heater, your mileage won't suffer as badly in the winter (but it will still suffer). I'm glad summer is rolling around, the fuel economy section was full of woe for the winter months. As Richard pointed out, one fellow didn't like the seats. I know that some people were disappointed as to what the EPA estimates said vs what they actually get. But the revised ones seems a lot closer to what people get and many many more people easily exceed those values. Good luck with your new car (come June/July). Call your dealer weekly and get updates, just so they don't "forget" that you were interested and actually ordered the car. I hope they would be more up and up than that, but it doesn't hurt to keep them under the "microscope". |
