Passenger Airbag

My friend just had heart surgery and his doctor insists that he be driven home in a car or van with no airbag. He has a 2004 Prius Package 9. Is it possible to temporarily disable the passenger side airbag?

Let him ride in the back seat?

Put him in the center rear seat. No airbag.
