Friends: 0 | :guns: I'm giving up. I put my Prius on order early October and have been told since Thanksgiving "You're at the top of the list!". Well, February is the 2nd month in a row my "dealership" received *0* allocation.. no Prius' AT ALL! Goodbye Toyota, Hello Infiniti! |

Friends: 0 | Sounds like your dealer is a loser. It may have been better to contact more dealers. Allocation system seems screwed up to me, since Toyota bases them on sales of the Classic, which really doesn't compare with the Gen2 Prius. Hope you enjoy the Infiniti. |

Friends: 42 | Hoodwink - Too bad to hear that, but the Infiniti is a great car - G35? That's a great driving car. I hope you'll stick around PriusChat and throw in your 2 cents every once in a while.

Regardless, you believe the Prius is the best car around today? Also, your two choices were a Prius and an Infiniti? Two completely different classes, PLUS about $15,000 difference (if you're talking about the G35). Things that make you go....."hmmmm". | ||

Friends: 0 | Hoodwink, Two things: 1) Please stick around. 2) I suggest giving your dealer another month. If the allocations continue to be as sparse as they have been during the past few months, then bolt. But, you're NUMERO UNO, for the love of God! If the dealer only gets ONE Prius, it's presumably yours! Hanging in there for another 3-4 weeks won't kill you, will it? Okay, maybe more than two things........so sue me. |

Friends: 0 | I'm sure this has been said may times, but new models have this problem with ANY company. I love cars, and I tend to follow the release of cars I find interesting, if I plan to buy one or not. Over the past 1.5 years I have watched the release of several cars: -Mitsu Evo 8 -Subaru STi -Acura TSX -Mazda RS-8 -Toyota Prius Many of theses are very different cars, but they all share one thing - It was at leased 6 months of solid production time before these cars started to show up on the dealer lot and stick around for any solid amount of time. There is a very small Subaru dealer down the road from my house. Since the release of the STi, they have gotten 3 cars. A dealer 15 miles from my house has STi's to pick from. This could be much like your dealer, where the other dealers in the area that move more cars are getting the allocation. There are not a lot of good things to come from buying a car that is a new model - You do not get very good deals, you wait a long time, you deal with any production bugs, dealers will only add to the list of ways they will attempt to take advantage of you and many more. With all of these things in mind its also very common for dealers to call people on their "list" and have them drop out. This means putting your name on more than one list isn't a bad thing, if you do not have to put much money down. Anyway the point is, this is just the way the industry works. What you are dealing with is not a unique situation, and there are many people like yourself. In the coming months do not be shocked to start to see at least a small selection of these cars sitting on lots. What I see here is just like every other model I have watched, and the story always ends the same. Infiniti makes wonderfull cars, I'm sure you won't be unhappy. |

Friends: 0 | I was able to get my Prius in just over a month by registering with multiple dealers. I told each dealer what I was doing and only one required a deposit to do it. Some allowed me to be on the regular list and others put me on a courtesy list where they called me if no one on the regular list wanted the car they had. Most were very polite about it and contacted me frequently. If you are as impatient as me, why don't you try that approach. |

Friends: 0 | hey I bought my "now-my-EX" a G35 Sport Coupe in red with black leather, sport package 6-speed with spoiler, NAV system, etc last spring! It's a great car! I was envious when we got it -- and it was a car that you had to pay MSRP for back then... and it's a fun car! Lots more costly than Prius and whoa, the gas mileage sucks, but it's a hot car!
