Clearly you do not live in Pennsylvania, where the potholes alone would knock your fillings out at that tire pressure.

Tire Rack has the Fuel Max at $75 a tire and the Assurance Comfortred for $84. Anyone have experience with the Comfortred as far as comfort, mpg, and traction?

On my second set of Comfortreds.
Quiet, comfortable, better wet traction, but 2-3 MPG hit.
The Integrities are real crap compared to the Comfortreds

Just had them put on the last weekend in April. Fuel mileage went up and ride and control are much better that they have ever been. Like a whole new car. Particularly good on the highway and much better in the rain than Integrity's.

P.S. Make sure they don't substitute regular assurance tire. These have a small gas gage.

Very nice. Thanks for the post. I'm at 20K on my Integrities and will buy soon. Torn between TT's and Comfort Treads . First I have heard of Fuel max. I like quiet tires. Are they quiet and at what tire pressure are you running please? My Int's howl at anything above 40 psi. I get great mileage but am cursed with really good hearing and hear everything in the car/ all my cars and its just annoying but man are Integrities loud
especially when there cold and pumped up to like 44. Pure crap. Thank you.

The Assurance Fuel Max tires that I have were put on with the standard 35/33 PSI. They are P-metric radials so they can be pumped to 51 PSI but I haven't tried that yet. Waiting to see what mileage I have with the standard inflation. They are extremely quiet compared to Integrity's but that is purely speculative on my behalf. But I'm a little different than most people because I spend the first few minutes with no radio listening for different sounds in my car to make sure everything is normal. Road noise was cut in half was my first impression with the Fuel Max. Those were with 50+ mile trips to and from the airport so the first full trips were much longer than normal which is usually less than 5 miles mostly city driving. The trip home from the airport was in the pouring rain and very windy. I noticed even then fuel mileage stayed quite high. I've gone 110 miles on this tank and the computer says 49.7 mpg. And I usually only refuel once a month so it'll be awhile.

As I've said previously, makes it feel like a whole new car.

I have a set of TT's and CT's that I switch back and forth when I do the rotation, so the differences are really pronounced. Each time I do it, it's like driving a different car. The TT's handle much better, but are somewhat noisier and harsher riding. The CT's are much quieter and smoother riding than the TT's, but handling isn't as precise. Seems you can't get both better handling and quieter ride in 1 tire. I run the CT's at higher pressure 44/42 and the TT's at 40/38. There is little or no difference in fuel consumption between the 2. In any event, either tire is a huge improvement on the stock Integritys. I will consider the FuelMax when these tires wear out.

I've posted this elsewhere, but here's a link to the Goodyear site page where Goodyear itself rates and compares the handling and comfort characteristics of the Goodyear Fuel Max, ComforTred, TripleTred and Integrity. It's interesting because it's the manufacturer's own assessment. But I wouldn't take it as gospel.
