Default Laptop data survival tech question

Does anyone know if the data on the disk of a laptop computer can be altered by the main battery or electric motor in the 2004 Prius?

Has anyone had any problem with data corruption after transporting a laptop or PDA in his or her Prius?

I assume the answer involves magnetic fields generated within the Prius. Being ignorant of electronics and barely understanding computers, I do not have a clue to knowing an answer.

Can anyone enlighten me and others who may wish to transport their computer stuff in their Prii?

PDA no problem as for a laptop don't have any fist hand experience but the car has about 14 computers on board so I'd think it was pretty well shielded from emi and rfi.

I have had my laptop in my car many times--both in the back seat and in the hatch. Everything works fine.

I use my PDA daily in the car, and have used my laptop frequently as well as transported it daily and have experienced no problems.

Use my notebook computer from my Prius often - wireless works great.
