Friends: 10 | once again, Costco fillup. now i have a disclaimer. they have changed their pump procedures which cause a "longer" fillup time. previously, i pull up. scan CC which doubles as membership card. select pay by same CC, receipt requested. start pumping. when done, i replace pump, go back and put on gas cap. by then the receipt is done. well, i immediately noticed they did not ask whether i wanted a receipt, so figured ok , i get one by default. so same process, i finish up, put pump away, go back (i always park with pump on right. this stretches out the hose i can assure i get all the drops i pay for... ya me cheap... plus the lines for those pumps are always much shorter and nearly always available without waiting as it was this trip.) and no receipt...but a prompt on the screen asking if i want one. i said yes and it was a nearly 7=8 seconds additional wait for it. but time was 6 minutes and 41 seconds and i had to run pump slowly because it shut off in the first gallon. after it repeated the shutoff 4 more times, i restarted it at the lowest speed i could manage. but still got more than 10 gallons. will say this way a much more enjoyable trip despite the un cooperative pump... gas was 28 cents per gallon cheaper this trip!

Friends: 0 | Just filled up - 5 min 50 sec. for 19 litres. I fill at around 1/2 tank. Pay at pump (credit car swipe). I filled one pip early as I'm doing a trip out of town tomorrow. Looking at my fuel book, it appears I fill about once every three weeks. Usually around 24 litres. As I recall, the tank is 45 litres. I get more in because I fill it more. Probably around 48-50 litres. It takes me a little longer as I -fill- the tank (until I can sense the fuel at the bottom of the fill tube by how long it takes to back up in the tube). This way I get about 150 km on average more per fill. I also don't get overfills this way as I am actually controlling the situation, not relying on junk auto-shutoffs that vary all over the place. In fact, I can't get a proper fill if I let the auto-shutoff work. At any fill rate. Sometimes it overfilled, sometimes I got 1/2 tank. So I do it myself, and get reliable and repeatable fills. I -never- get to see fuel in the filler tube after I'm done. There is -always- expansion room. Yup, -some- fuel vapour does escape (we don't have vapour recovery here anyway). Nope, no fuel on ground!
