Friends: 0 | The non-SKS fobs (that have to be inserted into the dash to start the car) will work fine and can be programmed without a scan tool. The problem is the SKS fobs. In general you can't pair a used SKS fob with the car. You can still program the buttons on it like a non-SKS fob but you can't do the SKS functions. Even new ones need the scan tool to pair them. |

Friends: 0 | Hi all, I’m thinking about getting a spare for my 2004 GenII that uses the black logo non-SKS type fob. Can a second hand (eg ebay) fob of the correct type be programmed to both start the car and lock/unlock the doors? I'm sure I read somewhere that while almost everyone had no problem programming them to start the car that there was mixed success with programming the door lock function. Do the black logo non sks type still have the usage limit after which the door lock programming wont be accepted, or is that only for the silver logo type?
