Default Picked up my Driftwood #6 Today!

I took delivery of my Driftwood #6, "officially" today at 17:42. I say "officially" as that is when the delivery of the car to the customer (me!) was announced over the dealer's intercom system, accompanied by the enthusiastic applause of the dealership staff.

I'm very pleased with my Driftwood #6. I have to say that the quality of the vehicle has surprised me. I'm not exactly sure what i was expecting, but i wasn't expecting something as nice as my Prius.

The dealer through which i bought the car is Don Davis Toyota in Arlington, TX. They delivered the car to me at MSRP, no port options, no mark ups. I have the color i wanted with the package i wanted. The business office was very reasonable to deal with, no hard sell at all as i declined the extended warranty (to be purchased through PriusChat) and the prepaid maintenance.

My salesperson (John Rowe) was knowledgeable about the Prius and enthusiastic about orienting me towards the vehicle and the features. The checklist had been followed, an alignment had been done, and the car had been road tested, delivered to me with 19 miles on the odometer.

I'm all smiles, let me tell you that!

Thank You, Bill & Lou Ann! I've been enjoying my Prius immensely. I love the way it drives and rides.

You know, it's funny how i keep finding errands to run, places to go, places that used to be just a few minutes away. The Prius seems to like to find different routes (usually longer!) to get to where I "need" to go.

P.S. Sometimes i find myself missing NC. I lived in Winston-Salem for 12 years, but once the kids were done with school, it was time to move back to Texas for me.

Awesome! How long was the wait? I'll be buying mine in the next few months, so I'm weighing my options with all the dealers around here and out of the area. Don Davis is on my list of options.

TX Toyota of Grapevine is OFF my list. Asking $4k over MSRP! <--I like to help spread the word about dealers charging over MSRP so people can avoid them.

Thank you, Bill!

I was hoping for Driftwood and i guess i got lucky (or my dealer is very good) to get that color. But, the Silver was was my second choice (white being the third). For the first time a few weeks ago, i saw a Prius in the parking lot at Target and was able to look at it up close. The Silver is a beautiful color!

I am really enjoying my Prius thus far and i think my appreciation of the Prius will only grow.

The very best to you and your Prius. Our White #4 is only a couple of weeks old and has already endeared itself to us. You're going to enjoy it!

GreenLady, i ordered on April 28th and picked the car up on June 21st, so it wasn't quite 60 days. Don Davis quoted me a 60 to 75 day wait and then beat their own estimate. The wait may well be slightly less depending on what color and options package you order.

The full story is here on PriusChat. If you end up going over to Don Davis, ask for John Rowe (he's the "Fleet Manager") and tell him that Michael McGaw sent you over; i'd like him to know his customer service is pulling customers his way.

Good luck, and when you order, make an entry on the order tracking board so we can see how things go for you!

Yup, Grapevine was the first place i called, dealt with Vickie Hicks. I'm not sure what the deal was, but she kept insisting that Gulf States Toyota added all kinds of port options that they had no choice but to accept. Her prices did come down over the course of a couple of days and she offered to try and find me "exactly" what i wanted, but she was never willing to come down to MSRP. Since MSPR sales are obviously possible, i wasn't going to pay Grapevine's prices. I thanked her for her time and moved on.
