Default Left rear vent?

ive' had my car, an '05 package 6, for two months and only yesterday noticed a solitary vent-looking thing high up aside the right rear passenger seat. what is this thing, and what is it for?

That's the vent to keep the batteries cool if they get hot. The manual says to make sure and never block that vent. It was very explicit with lots of exclamation marks.

It's a cooling vent for the battery pack...you should also make sure that it's never obscured by anything so that the battery is able to maintain its optimum temperature.

Vent to keep the battery compartment cool...if I remember correctly.

Ditto. cold air intake for the battery to keep it cool.
