Friends: 0 | Just purchased a Prius. So far I'm averaging 40.3mpg. Not too bad considering the long uphill grade I drove. Anyways my car is Millennium Silver Metallic with Gray/Burgundy interior. First day I bought it I had the windows tinted. I don't know what it is about Prius owning San Dieagans but I have yet to see one with tint. Oh well it'll make mine stand out a bit. My preference of colors was white, salsa red, silver then driftwood. I'm pretty happy with silver, though I would have loved that Charcoal grey I saw the other day. I didnt even know they offered it. :?: Oh yeah I got Package #3 with the 6 disc cd changer, floor mats and cargo net. I didnt want the 6disc changer but it was either the car I got or one fully loaded with package 6, which I did not want. Anyways heres a pic at the tint shop. |

Friends: 0 | Here's hoping you enjoy your new car as much as most members of this forum enjoy their car! Nice that you got the Gray/Burgundy interior. I wish that were available with many of the other exterior color options. Not much of a need for tinting a car in PA, IMHO, though I can imagine it might be a necessity in southern CA. Enjoy |

Friends: 0 | I like your tinting a whole lot. I ordered mine with the tint, but don't think it'll look as dark as yours. Yours really stands out.... |

Friends: 0 | Congrads., I just got a silver one like yours, no tint yet., I live in Nederland Tx hot and sunny too so I may go ahead and do it. Got the grey interior, and similar options, no SKS., but all in all I am happy. My first mileage was about 40.4, still working on the second tankfull., got 358 miles so far and still have three marks on the gas gauge (about 1/4 full). My car's AC now is a necessity, run it every time and it's mid 90's to 100 out there, so the mileage is on the low side. Very happy with the car overall, and looking forward to better gas mileage and cost in the long run, came down from a 2002 Ford Explorer, never got better then 15-19 MPG! Not looking back now, the gas savings will pay for the car note. Again congrads keep in touch, my son in the Marines is stationed your way. Regard I. Altmann (ImmanuelA@aol.com)

Friends: 0 | Thanks for the compliments and warm welcome. ops: Its the weekend so I havent driven the Prius but she sure does look purdy nice parked in my garage. Nothing against it but Im glad I didnt get the tan interior. Ive always prefered black or grey interiors. Talking about tint... Today I only say 3 other Piruses, Driftwood, silver and then a white one, but none of them were tinted. Grrr I havent seen that Charcoal grey color Prius again. I even went back to the area where I last saw it. Unfortunetly when I saw it my camera phone was dead. Guess I should buymyself a car charger. :x IALTMANN Correct me if Im wrong but doesnt the A/C run off the electric engine and not the gasoline one. If so then it shouldnt affect MPG too much. Unless of course you consider that the gasoline engine charges up the electric one. I hope the A/C doesnt affect our mileage like in other cars. I've been running the A/C non-stop since I couldnt lower the windows. When cruising around town Ive always prefered to drive with the windows down. At highways speeds I cant stand the wind baffle. Where is your son stationed at? Camp Pendleton? |

Friends: 23 | Charcoal grey? You mean Tideland? hehe The A/C does run off the battery but do note, A/C will drain the battery quite quickly hence the engine will have to recharge it. |

Friends: 0 | Welcome ReneGS. I'm also in San Diego and have white package #1. I don't have a tint, but I may get one. For me, though, getting better tires is a slightly higher priority. I run my air conditioning almost constantly and am still getting a pretty consistent 52 mpg, so it can't affect mileage too badly. Enjoy. |

Just saw what I thought was a beautiful dark silver grey Prius near our house yesterday -- did a double-take. Then it turned the corner, went into shade, and turned into the same Tideland Pearl color my Prius is. However, it sounds as if you got a chance to walk around this Prius, and look at it from multiple angles; so I don't know what to make of it.
