Wow.. love this thread.. As a prius noob.. i didnt know some of the various "beeps" that are provided for saftey could be removed.. Gotta look it up..lol if anyone is interested in body (for looks) mods i found this sexy looking prius and spoke to the sales guys there. Very helpful.. They sell eye lids (cover upper section of the headlights to give a more aggressive angle, do not reduce or block light) they sell bumper lips..(give the car a lowered look without actually lowering the car) lowering spring and coilovers and they do full custom interiors.. VIPAUTOSALON.COM heres a pic of that sexy prius..

If you know of any other mods like this.. please feel free to contact me. thank you..
You could also add H.I.D. lights to your headlights and fog lights. Usually around $100(a set) at any local auto tinting/audio/ wheel shop. You can also buy precut tints to tint the car yourself and to smoke out the tail lights o ebay. Ive also seen a little kit being sold on ebay to keep the cigarette lighter outlet under the radio live so it will continue to charge your cellphone or GPS even if the car is off..and if you really wanna get crazy ive "read" a little about how some people modify their prius's by adding another battery to have more power to run off of the batteries more and use the combustion engine less..saving more fuel but i still have to do my homework on that one before i would recommend it to anyone. Just passing the knowledge.

Free or almost free:
- Speed switch to allow RDS (or CD-TEXT on 06+ models) to display momentarily. (Radioshack for switch. Cut the purple speed wire. Instructions on PC)
- Shave rear wiper holder if you wish to allow full lift of the rear wiper (Instructions on PC)
- Prius decals (PC shop)

Less than $100:
- HYBRID emblems for 04/05 models (Sigma Automotive)
- chrome grille for 04/05 models (Sigma Automotive)
- JDM footwell lighting (or ebay aftermarket kits)
- OEM EV button (Sigma)
- Alternate EV mod (Coastal E. Technologies, radioshack)
- Alternate centre console tray with coin holder (Sigma)
- All-Weather Mats (Toyota or ExactMats/Costco?)
- Leather cover for centre console box lid (ebay)
- MFD Hood (ebay)
- Cargo Net (Toyota... others have tried other nets from other cars like the Hyundai Santa Fe)
- Rubber Bumper Protector (Toyota.. can also use Corolla/Matrix version)

More than $100:
- TRD Sportivo springs/shocks (can't remember where)
- TOM'S front strut tower brace (Sigma)
- TOM'S floor strengthening brace (Sigma)
- JDM Signal Mirrors (Sigma)
- VIP lights (Carson Toyota)
- Four (4) Prius aluminium scuff plates (Sigma)
- Leather interior with heated/ventilated seats (Katzkin authorised dealer)
Bump this... This is the PERFECT starter kit, if you just add the highest-rated LockPick available for your model. Then you're set to do pretty much ANYTHING with this car.

As long as you're the type to use the more-than-driving features of the car, this is an absolute truth. You can do a little with it -- dial the telephone, input an address both while moving -- or you can do a lot with it -- I have a network of two Nano-ITX Linux boxes, one of which is always on and has never given me any trouble...

Oh, and put a subwoofer in your car at the VERY LEAST. You don't know that the car has pretty decent speakers out of the box but they lack clarity and richness of bass. You will like your regular music more. You will bring back some things you didn't think you liked anymore. It's interesting and really quite nostalgic.
