I started working on the "Prius Modifications" page of the ChicagoPriusGroup website and then just worked on other pages that, well, interested me more. I'm not a modifications person so it's not really my area of expertise.

Wayne's been telling me that I need to add more things and I think it was Nerfer who was telling me to put more stuff on there. So I decided to do just that. The problem is that since I'm not a modifications guy, I don't really know what to put. So I've once again decided to turn to the populous.

Here's what I would like to do: create three categories for mods: Free or Almost Free, Less than $100, More than $100.

I figure I'm going to let you all do the typing and explaining. Please keep in mind that I intentionally try to keep the explanations simple. When people want more explanations, they can go to a meeting or come here. I don't want people being scared away from the CPG site by extremely technical explanations. Or maybe you can give all the details here in PriusChat but don't get offended if I thin it down for the CPG site.

Here are a few examples:
Free or Almost Free
Blocking your Grill[list of benefits and a how-to]

Less than $100
EV Button[list of benefits and where/how to order]

More than $100
BT Stiffening Plate[list of benefits and where/how to order]

I think you get it. If you can provide pictures, that would be great too.

Let's see...what mod could cost around $50...experienced installers can do in less than 30 minutes...helps with the cheapie and greenie sides of Prius ownership...great idea for those short commutes...must be fun to do since some wacky Prius owner has been traveling up and down the Atlantic seaboard doing these mods for people...what's that called .

Cheap:

A few bucks:

Replace interior lights with LEDs (eBay.com)
Safety Improvement (retroreflective tape, emergency supplies, etc. - lists on PC, sources are various)
Sun shield (PC Accessory store)
New radio antenna (Sigma Automotive, eBay)
Wheelskin steering wheel cover (PC Accessory store)
Decals (PC Accessory store)
Mud flaps (MetroTPN.com)
Side mouldings (MetroTPN.com, local dealer)
Sharkfin antenna (Sigma Automotive, eBay)

Many bucks:
New tire upgrade (suggestions on PC, sources are numerous)
BT Tech plate (PC Accessory store)
DICE iPod adapter (PC Accessory store)
Window Tinting (local source)
Clear paint protection (local source, eBay)
Vinyl front mask (Sigma Automotive, eBay, local source)

I'm sure there are a ton more, in addition to the EBH.

Tony, you can grab some mods off Darell's site since he has the price list too.

Free or almost free:

- Shave rear wiper holder if you wish to allow full lift of the rear wiper (Instructions on PC)
- Prius decals (PC shop)

Less than $100:
- HYBRID emblems for 04/05 models (Sigma Automotive)
- chrome grille for 04/05 models (Sigma Automotive)
- JDM footwell lighting (or ebay aftermarket kits)
- OEM EV button (Sigma)
- Alternate EV mod (Coastal E. Technologies, radioshack)
- Alternate centre console tray with coin holder (Sigma)
- All-Weather Mats (Toyota or ExactMats/Costco?)
- Leather cover for centre console box lid (ebay)
- MFD Hood (ebay)
- Cargo Net (Toyota... others have tried other nets from other cars like the Hyundai Santa Fe)
- Rubber Bumper Protector (Toyota.. can also use Corolla/Matrix version)

More than $100:
- TRD Sportivo springs/shocks (can't remember where)
- TOM'S front strut tower brace (Sigma)
- TOM'S floor strengthening brace (Sigma)
- JDM Signal Mirrors (Sigma)
