Friends: 0 | Is the premium price ($85.00) worth it? Does the 85 clams cover all four doors or do you need to buy two sets? How accurate is the molding to the contours of the Prius doors? Is any type of adhesive used or are the protectors made well enough to attach securely without the sticky stuff? I thank you in advance for any information. |

This was my first post and I could not figure out how to remove the duplicates. Much appreciated.

Friends: 23 | np. btw, folks here have body-coloured side mouldings rather than the chrome ones you're asking about. The ones they use are from the old Highlander. |

So the Highlander side mouldings are a good fit for the Prius. Does anyone have a part number for the appropriate Highlander mouldings? How about colors? Do folks at PC try to match their Prius' color to a Highlander moulding color or do they tend to go with neutral color mouldings that work with most Prius colors (e.g., black, white, silver, clear)? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(sinistersushi @ Nov 7 2007, 09:13 AM) </div> Quote:
I just found Arizona Charlie's very helpful post on Highlander mouldings. Thank you again for the advice.

The story thus far: wheelskins black wheel cover from PC; spider cargo web, from Deland Toyota's e-bay store; deactivated backup beeper; two-stage, heated front seats, from after-market detail shop; mudflaps from PC; clear door protectors, from local auto shop; "Prius" rear deck-lid decal, from dealer; headrest coat hanger; grill block; and, shark fin antenna, from PC. On order: engine block heater; and, side mouldings. To be continued: JDM scuff plates; two-tone, wheelskin (still working out the color scheme); and, EV mod (maybe, if I overcome my fear of voiding Toyota's warranty).

Are you talking about door edge protectors which are vertical (more or less)? Or body side door moldings which are horizontal (more or less), and which PriusChatters here get from the Prius Shop for $122 ? If you're talking about door edge protectors, where do you find the JDM ones you're asking about?

http://www.sigmaautomotive.com/jdm/prius/prius0405.php The protectors are the fourth item on the right hand side. They seem awfully pricey at $85.00 and was wondering if anyone had purchased them and what they thought of them. BTW, great movie, play and book. Harper Lee was just awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, I believe. In any event, thank you for any help you can provide. Kindest, Jeff

Sorry, but I have no data on them. But maybe your clarification will help to find a PriusChatter who does. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(sinistersushi @ Nov 7 2007, 09:59 AM) </div> Quote:

BTW, "harperlee" is also a PriusChatter, and she also has a Magnetic Gray Prius like me ... small world.

Friends: 0 | My car came with black ones (and matching wheel well moldings and pin stripes) as part of a $500 dealer added protection (PROFIT) package. I will say they do protect somewhat against dings, especially in the garage where our cars are pretty close. Not sure of the actual cost. Any auto body shop can probably do something similar. I don't see them very often on the 30 or 40 Pri I see every day on the freeway. Never seen chrome ones. |
