Friends: 3 | BT Tech is proud to offer our newest Strut Tower Brace for the 2004-2008 Prius’. This part mounts to the top of the each strut tower located under the hood in the engine compartment and its purpose is to increase chassis rigidity, decrease under-steer, and provide improved steering response when turning. This part installed along with our BT Tech stiffening plate literally transforms the Prius and makes it a much more enjoyable car to drive due to the increased chassis rigidity and promotes significant improvements in handling and high speed stability. Our Strut Tower Brace is fabricated with 6061-T6 aluminum and is tig-welded for high strength. The brace is pressed high tensile steel with CAD engineered bends for the ultimate strength. Both the bar and bracket supports are powder coated for a long lasting finish and good looks. This product will be availble shortly in the Prius Chat online store.

Friends: 7 | Would I need to hire a mechanic to install this? This looks a lot more complicated than the plate or the shield. Also interested in $$. |

Friends: 3 | It's a fairly involved install. You have to remove the cowling, wipers/motor, and a few other things that are in the way. I believe it took me an hour to install my Tom's brace. I think the hardest part was the wiper assembly, and pulling off the wiper. The actual part of bolting on the brace is a snap, though. |

Friends: 0 | When I installed my Toms strut tower... It took me about an hour also.. I had to access it again a second time to install the TRD sportivo kit and it took me about 1/3 the time to do so... not including the suspension install which took about 4hrs to complete... oh and Brian... The bar has a nice clean look.. thumbs up... too bad I already have one.. Last edited by JaviNOS; 12-31-2007 at 03:46 AM. |

Friends: 3 | Thanks everyone for your kind words. Installation like Presto commented on should take the average person about 1-2 hrs. For a person with basic tools and mechanical knowledge, there should be no problem and your install should be pretty straight-forward. Happy New Year everyone!! |

Friends: 0 | I'll need to know the price before I can commit. I figure I'm more likely to need the skid plate before the Tower Brace, so I'm in on the former. I'm pleased already with the Stiffening Plate on my Touring, so I'll wait till price and reports come in on the brace Thanks for the new products! Lee |

Friends: 0 | Brian, does the brace block access to anything one must deal with during normal maintenance? For example, it looks like the fuse block is blocked by the bar. Could be just the angle of the photo. |
