How do you stop from timing out when ICE is off? Where do you mount cable & get it to stay?

Change to hybrid mode in fuel type.

The manual shows how to adjust the settings (i.e. fuel type (diesel, gas, hybrid), fuel tank size, engine displacement, etc) which can be found here: ScanGaugeII - Frequently Asked Questions

If you use velcro to mount the SG II on the dash to the left of the MFD, the cable runs straight down the dash on the right of the steering column. It can then be zip-tied to the harness' under the dash. It doesn't move in this location. If it's a problem get some velcro with double sided tape on it. Fold one side (I choose the hook side) around the cable, just a small piece, and put a small loop piece on the dash. The cable will then stick to it and say in place. Makes it easy to remove and reinstall. The velcro can easily be removed from the dash with no residue.
