Franklin,

Concerning the matter of securely attaching the unnamed radiator inlet shield thingy without drilling holes in the bodywork: I saw this stuff at an electrical parts store today:

3M™ Dual Lock™ Reclosable Fastener System MP3551/MP3552 Black

It had a good, strong, secure grip, well beyond regular hook and loop.

The product description reads:

"3M ™ Dual Lock ™ Reclosable Fasteners have been used extensively in transportation, electronics, business equipment, machinery, medical and sign and display markets. When the mushroom-shaped stems interlock, tensile strength is high enough to replace mechanical fasteners in many applications, yet you can readily open and close Dual Lock fasteners hundreds of times. High temperature and solvent resistant. Black, polyproplyene reclosable fastener with a VHB ™ Tape pressure sensitive 170/400 stems per square inch."

Product Catalog

P.S. The mold looks great. Can't wait to see pix of the real thingy.

I got some 3M™ Dual Lock™ today and that stuff is expensive and I do not see what is so great about it but I will be willing to try it.

I think 3M is way over pricing this product.

It cost $19.00 for only 4.5 feet of usable tape per carton.

Maybe if I cut it in 1" strips and space them 6" apart. With these paramiters you could do maybe 2 or 3 products.

I installed my hybrideffects.com grille block today. I noticed a quicker warm up, but the normal operating temperature remained at 186F at 48F ambient. It is raining here so I can't quantify any FE gains at this point.

Close up Pictures and pricing here:
Toyota Prius - Grille Block - Toyota Prius 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007,2008 Hybrid Grille Block (Shipping Included)

They are for sale now. I used a bead of clear RTV for installation.
As soon as it stops raining here I will get a better idea about any FE benefits. In the morning my water temp usually takes 5 minutes to reach 157F. Now it takes 3 1/2 minutes. FE in the first 5 minutes went from 45 to 50MPG. So far the warmest ambient has been 55F and I show no difference in max water temp, 186F.

I didn't see a place to order your product with the vent holes on the site. Also, it's not clear to me that the current model will accomodate those of us with fog lamps.

BTW, please please contact Danny@Priuschat.com , the site owner. You're quickly moving into (if not already there) commercial advertising status with this thing and need to make arrangements with Danny to continue to post/advertise here. Also, I want you to arrange a group buy that will bring the cost under $100.
