Witch ones slip I herd that the All Weather Floor Mats have been known to slip of the hooks. Do the OEM All Weather Floor Mats slip, or do the Prius Chat All Weather Floor Mats slip? I also herd that you have to leave on the floor mats for them not to slip. Is that true? If so witch ones the OEM, or Prius Chat, or both.

pings a witch! burn her!!! burn her at a stakes!!

Anyway, it's the OEM mats and frankly I don't see a design issue with the mats. I have them on top of mine and they fit and have PLENTY of clearance with regards to the accelerator.

I have been told that the mud flaps change the aerodynamics of the Prius and will cost you gas mileage. I would be very interested to hear what happens to your mileage once you install the mud flaps. Thanks.

The loss in mpg is not that significant with the addition of mudflaps. I've never installed one, since I don't like drilling through my front fender. I'll just keep my Prius waxed 2 to 3X / year.

Tideland Prius, hi there!

I just got the OEM All Weather Floor Mats here in Canada. You're right. They're different from the US ones. I'm assuming the Canadian ones are designed specifically to suit winter weather. True?

You mentioned that you just have them on top of your carpet mats. It came with a warning that you're not supposed to do that. But, if the clips work, then it should be fine. I'm sure the note was just for liability purposes.

Now, I'm ready for fall and winter. I still haven't replaced my OEM tires. They're still good though. Is it really necessary to replace them with All Season or winter tires? I'm from Los Angeles, so I've only driven in snow maybe a dozen times. What do you think? My question is what do I do with my old tires? They're still good. What do people normally do with their good set of tires? Do they keep them in the garage?

I have the all-weather mats in all of my vehicles. Great to be able to hose them off when they get dirty. I made sure that my Prius came with the OM mats installed.

My Lexus ES350 was actually recalled to make sure that the carpeted mats were not installed under the all-weather mats. If you double them up, there is a chance that they could jam under the accelerator.

Hi All,

I have the original Prius all-weather mats. Got them at the dealer when I picked up the car. They have given good service, but have a design flaw that effects their long life. The new Hexagon pattern appears to fix that design flaw.

The drivers mat of the old design is great towards the drivers seat. But up front, where your feet rest at they operate the peddles, the mat is very thin. Underneath the mat is a square support rib section, which allows the plastic to be thin, although its at the same height as the thicker sections. This thin plastic wore thru where my heal hits the mat, when my foot is operating the gas peddle.

The new deisgn seems to be thick rubber there. People should check to see if this is so. If not, a little premetive backfilling as described below might be in order.

I recently did a little fix-it job. Where the plastic was worn through, I backfilled the square grid section with silicone sealer. But that still left an area where my heal had worn through the mat, and mishaped it. The sealer was not strong enough to support my heal, also. So, over the front of the mat I cut a piece of vinyl/pvc flexible material (scrap left over from a drawing board mat) and glued it down with something akin to carpet tape. This mat is strong enough to prevent my heal from pushing through.

I have to agree, when not worn out these mats do an excellent job keeping the dirt and grime off the carpet.

I have a set of Hexagon floor mats as well (like the one below). Still brand new in original packing, and the label it read generic Toyota floor mats. (and it doesn't say Prius on them, or as I can see. Only said Toyota)

I don't plan to use them as I have better ones. Maybe I will sell them on eBay later...
