Accent Stripe

Has anyone added an accent stripe to their prius? I have not seen one on other prii around town, but thought it might add a nice touch. I have seaside pearl. Also lovin' my prius of one week.

Are you talking about those molding stripes that prevent scratches and dings from car doors banging into the car??, If so, I saw those on the Prius store here and want to buy them, They have them colored to match the cars. I am also wondering if anyone has bought them and how they look on the cars.

My Prius is parked in a daily commuter train parking lot and for the past week that I have had the car I have been parking in an end space so I can go as close to the curb as possible and leave tons of room on the other side of the car so nobody hits my car doors, so I really want to buy those molding stripes. They are like $100 something on the website,
anyone have them?? Car to share photos??

No, I am not talking about a molding stripe. This kind of stripe has no practical use other than to look good. It is painted on with a contrast color below the side windows from front to rear. You can see them on other makes of cars. They cost $99 at the dealership.

Here is a pic of my car with the accent stripe. Installed it myself for under $5.

Are you sure it's paint? When I was looking at CH Toyota the salesman said when you're paying MSRP we can throw in free pinstriping and if you want to change it later we'll do that for free too. Of course when it was time to buy he got amnesia. Enough proof for me to believe any car salesman I'm going to meet lies like a rug. Historically Toyota has used tape.

I also thought along the lines of "This kind of stripe has no practical use other than to look good. " but then I thought, how could I make this a safety feature(it really glows at night when headlights from other cars hit it)? Here are some pics with two tone reflective pinstripe tape.
