Friends: 2 | Folks, in the interest of clarity and fairness, it would be best to state in each posting which of the two rear wheel skirts are being addressed, either those by lyekka, or those by Hybrid Effects. Although I have been following the developments closely, it was not immediately clear to me that the sticky tape method of attachment is used by Hybrid Effects. On the other hand, lyekka has said: Quote:
parts, ease of removal, and perceived suitability and quality of the offerings. Again, I ask that to avoid confusion and misunderstanding -- and possible hard feelings --posters identify the maker of the shirts being discussed in each post. Last edited by Rokeby; 07-07-2008 at 06:20 AM. | |

Friends: 22 | I think the Hybrid Effects skirts will look great. The design is almost as good as it could get for the size and price. I tried to see how well a skirt could be made on this post here http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-mo...el-skirts.html and found that my design and the Hybrid Effect design almost match. If you were to refine my design to make it actually work you would realize that in order make enough room for the tire you must push out the skirt at the bottom a few inches. You don't see that in my poster board design but it really is needed. With that said the only thing I could see that may make the Hybrid Effects skirt look a little better would be to give it a more bubble shape and try to lose the very very small flair at the bottom. That flair actually looks like it might be so small you might not even notice it unless the lighting is just right. If you want a more smooth skirt the only other option is to have a very large body kit to start at the rear door and end at the rear bumper like the Yura style seen here. http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-mo...tml#post506048 If someone can make a skirt look smooth like Yura, small like Hybrid Effects, and cheap like Hybrid Effects well then you have my money but because of the shape of the car and the way the tire sticks out there really is no other way to make a small skirt other than the way Hybrid Effects made it. I'll report back with my review of the Hybrid Effects skirts when I get them.

Friends: 2 | I sent a PM to Lyekka on 07/27/08 asking about progress. I haven't gotten a response. I sure would like to see a second offering in the very near future... even a PhotoShopped graphic to show where she's going would do for a starter. |
