California tint law sucks! bye bye tints >_<

you can take my tint the day you can make the sun dimmer. here's my prescription, officer, i can't drive without it.

i drove a non-tinted car the other day and thought my head was going to explode.

No window tint blocks 100% of IR. No window tint has an SHGC (solar heat gain coefficient) of 0. No window tint can eliminate conductive heat transfer. The only thing you can block 100% of is UV. The best heat rejection for any Llumar film is 68%, for an SHGC of 0.32.

One of the many reasons that I left CA and now live in HI. The laws and police here are just as bad if not worse, but the weather is better.

I would have to agree. I did 35% all around with the thought process that if they saw no difference in the windows it would look less like after market tinting.

I just called 4 tinting places locally that insist they carry a clear metallic film which blocks 100% IR (All the films I've seen block 99% UV which is why I had not mentioned it earlier). It's pure metallic and has no dyes injected into it. 2 other places I called heard of it but do not carry it. I looked on the Llumar site but cannot find numbers to verify. How are you so positive this is not true?

You work in a tint shop? how much does it costs to remove the driver and passanger window tints? also do they sell the clear tint in your shop? Im in sacramento as well.

My shop is in Fairfield. We generally charge by the hour so it's about $60 on average but that is for tint that has been on for a long time and is a pain to remove.

If you're local I could help you remove it so you don't have to make the trip and save you some money. It's fairly easy, just time consuming.
