2002 Prius Engine Block Heater Installation

Recently I purchased (from PriusChat) an engine block heater for my 2002 Prius. I took the car and heater to my mechanic. After messing with it for a while he called a Toyota contact, because he couldn't figure out WHERE to install it, and was told there was no EBH for the 2002 Prius.

I am sure that before I purchased the EBH I saw, here, some discussion of installing one on the 2002. I can't find that discussion now.

Can anyone help me. Remember it is a 2002.

Print out GreenHokies thread on installing the EBH in his GenII Prius. The procedure is the same, the hole is in the same place on the engine block. On a Gen I there are a few more things to scrape and cut you but nothing special beyond that.

And if your dealer can't do it...how is Christmas time in Vermont.

Winter ain't here yet. Only 14 this AM and just a dusting of snow.

The closest dealer is Burlington, a long way away. I will consider this a test for my mechanic.
