Friends: 0 | Wow, you guys are some friendly bunch... Checking the aim of headlights isn't exactly rocket science you know. Frankly, I don't think that you know, but it's pretty simple - You park the car with the front bumper just a few inches from a wall, mark the center of the beams on the wall, drive back 25' - the center of the beams should now be 2" right and 2" down from the previous location. This requires of course a leveled ground of about 40' from the wall. But I guess those who never saw the headlights and how well (or not) they are aimed don't have any problem passing judgement. Fantastic. And to think that if someone came up will a decent solution to the crappy candlesticks that Toyota placed at the front of the Prius and dared calling them headlights, that will be a worthy contribution to some other forum members. But that's okay, don't let the facts confuse you, please proceed with this wonderful welcoming commitee, you're doing great .Moti |

Friends: 36 | I agree, well aimed headlight regardless how bright they are shouldn't be an issue. Poorly aimed lights are a pain in the bum even if they are only 37 watt. (remember those 37 watt 5 1/4 inch sealed beams?) Edit: - I don't need to remember, I can just drive my 68 Toyota Crown, it has the factory originals still in it. The fact of the matter is you show absolutely no foresight or consideration to how your actions may disturb others. Ignorance is bliss, so be happy with your brighter lights. One day when you grow up, and your eyes start the great decline, you may realize the error of your ways. Let me make one simple example, just for you. Please tell me how your illegal, well aimed headlights, bouncing off of wet pavement, do not increase glare for oncoming traffic. No, the answer is not, “ It never rains in SoCal”. Glare was not a problem for me until recently, it just kind of sneaks up on you. If you choose to call people unfriendly because they won’t buy your bull@@@@, you have more pressing issues to deal with. | |

Friends: 2 | A 80W bulb only give a slightly increase in intensity compare to the 55W. The aiming should not change as the construction of the filament is the same and at the same location inside the bulb. The glare should not increase. The worst offenders are the ones replace the halogen bulbs with HIDs because the head light reflector is not designed to focus the beam for HIDs. Quote:

Friends: 0 | Having properly aimed lights is not the holy grail, here. One consideration is that they are not legal, and one might say for good reason. Properly Aimed only matters on a level surface with cars going right past each other. Coming over a hill, coming out of driveways, coming around corners, and any other time when lights are not level and straight ARE precisely the problem. And THAT is a great deal of the time. Add to that that all the other drivers on the road are NOT young and viril like you, with eyes like an eagle and nerves of steel. THEY suffer at your hands. Perhaps you were inconsiderate by your inability to empathize, but now that you've been informed of your actions it must be by youthful arrogance if you simply don't believe us.

Friends: 0 | DGH, I guess you ran out of chill pills, but I'm not going to waste my time answering you because from your posts it strikes me that you're a d**k. So now that you evaluated my social skills, IQ and mental condition, please leave this thread alone. It doesn't seem like you have much more to contribute here. Note to mods / admins - I'm guessing that personal attacks are fine with you, no one seemed to be bothered about the rest of the posts How is someone supposed to keep a conversation on topic when every counter-point contains a cheap shot aimed at the poster? This is pretty lame. Forums are about sharing info, and that's what I had in mind. Points well taken, oh well... |
