Where to go for tinted windows?

I'm about to buy a used 2009 Prius from the dealership and have the option of getting tinted windows ($450). Can I buy the car and come back and get this done later at the same price? OR, are there cheaper places to have it done at?

Would you even recommend tinted windows? Thanks!

I know I am across the country, but that price is awfully high. I got a great deal for 200. I was expecting to pay 250 - 300. I love the tinted windows, the car looks great and it gives me added privacy, especially in the rear of the car.

Agreed, that sounds expensive. I, too, am looking to get my windows tinted soon. People on here seem to get aftermarket tint done and I think $300-350 is on the upper end for the most expensive type of tint. I'm shooting for a bit lower - like in the $200 range. Just have to decide on where.

Anyone have recommendations for the New York area??

Here in the Denver metro tint is under $200. One of the best mods I've done on the Prius.

I would usually say not really. However, the prius has 4 small spot windows. They are not easy to do.

Just got my windows tinted this weekend, and I like it a lot. $201 for 3M metallic film. For $400, I could have gotten the top of the line ceramic stuff, but I wasn't wanting to spend that kind of money.

I would not risk trying to tint the car yourself. The chances of getting it perfect without experience is very low. Hell, the pros did my car (the same shop did two of my last three cars, and all were excellent jobs), but there are a couple bubbles in one of the windows and they tinted over a decal on the small window in the back hatch. Gonna have to have them re-do the side window and the back because I don't want that decal to be a permanent part of the car!
