Hi, I've got an 06 Prius, Package #5. I've also got a 17 pound Bichon pup that usually rides in the front seat. As he moves around checking out the sights, he sets off the seatbelt alarm repeatedly. Does anyone know how to shut that off?

Thanks!

There's instructions here for this mod and others.

Disabling Reverse Beep
• Power on the car, Cycle ODO/TRIP, stopping on ODO, Power off the car.
• Power on, within 6 seconds, hold ODO for at least 10 seconds.
• While still holding ODO shift into Reverse and back into Park.
• b-on shows on speedometer display, press ODO to cycle to "b-off".

• This also works for the seatbelt beep, replace shifting with buckling/un-buckling.

If all else fails, just buckle the front seat belt.

I tried this, nothing happened till I sat on the passenger side as far as "b-off" showing up on screen. I will take the wife to diner, we will see if it works.

Don't know how much weight was on the seat, but I set it off with a work file and my purse on the back edge of the seat. When I moved the purse forward I got it to stop.

My briefcase sets it off from time to time - Not much in it other than my laptop.

My dog weighs 20 lbs. The two times I have allowed her in the car, it beeped. I just buckled the belt behind her.

Kid's carseat set it off too. It might weigh 20 lbs. Same thing; buckled the belt behind it.

. . . And NO! The kid was not in the car seat. I had to move it to the front in order to fold down the back seats for some boxes. :P

Couldn't get this to work, either, until I sat in the passenger seat.

Thanks for all the help. I'm away from the car for a few days and will give this a try.
