Ermm. For those diehard hardware hackers out there.. Anyone ballsy enough to dump it?

They mention the IMMO (Immobilizer) cpu, but I'm not yet adventurous enough to open it.. Maybe one day when I need a new key. From the socket in the picture, it's gonna be a 150mil 8 soic, so should be easy enough to probe at. It might be interesting to pull one from a wrecked pri to poke at...

In any case, FYI, 93c56 is only something like 256 bytes.. With the theoretical 5 key capacity of the Prii, that leaves some 50 bytes per key.

IIRC there is very little data that goes on the backchannel. Remember the pulses are only something around 134.12KHz! OTOH, the forward channel at 312.15MHz has a boatload of stuff in it.. It isn't AM though, it's FSK of some sort.

This isn't for Prius fobs, it's for the mechanical keys with the embedded rolling-code chip.
