For moving the Prius while off see the slide on removing the relay that locks the parking pawl. (Need to scroll down some to "parking games" slide.)

http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/car...g/prius01.html

Of course you have to be able to start the car to do this, otherwise you have to get 10 friends and lift.....or have one friend who owns a crane.

I will let someone else chime in about replacement batteries. However one option is

this site is a bit difficult for me to operate. i am not much on computers and can get mixed up very easy. thank you for your help and good advise. i bought this car on the internet with front end dmg. and not running. 1/2 of the relays in the fuse box were missing. i borrowed some from a friend and jumped the car but to no avail. i need to get it home where all my tools and equipment are so that i can start to trouble shoot it. do you know anyone that has disconnected the park mechinisum from the transmission? i am sure i can find it when i get under the car, but any advanced info might help. thanks again, larry

If you successfully jumped the car and got the dash to light up,
then it's likely you can shift it to Neutral. But you need to then
pull the PCON MTR relay *before* letting it power down again, or it
goes right back into park. So try that first; it's a heck of a lot
easier than going after the parking actuator which is buried deep
on the backside of the transaxle and very close to other things.

If you don't mind telling us....How much did you pay for the vehicle and how many miles are on it????

The elearnaid battery and kit is for generation 1 prius only. In generation 2 prius the terminal positions are swapped and this kit will not work for what we need in 04-07. Just clarifying this for all. I called elearn and they do not plan on getting a kit together for gen 2 as it is too complicated for the average person to do without screwing up something. FYI
