Wierd Lemon-Lime color on battery bar

Sometimes my battery bar light goes from blue (normal) to this weird lemon-lime color. Is that normal?

Do you also notice more bars than when it's blue?

When one or two bars - Color is purple
When 3-5 bars - color is blue
When 6-7 bars - color is lime green

[Spoid]

My kids cheer when it turns that color.

On mine, it's purple for 1-2 bars, blue for 3-6 bars, and green for 7-8 bars (well, I've never been up to eight bars, but I do get to seven on a regular basis).

What do you have to do to get the bars all the way to the top! I can get it up to "1 to go" but have never got to the top. Drove from florida to New York once a two day trip with about 10 hours on the road the first day and still couldn't get that final bar to show!

9 miles of 6% grade will do it every time.

I've gotten it twice, only when going downhill (a lot), but I live in the mountains.
