For my 10000mile oil change, I managed to mess up slightly and added 2 quarts of Mobil 1 Truck and SUV to the oil when I switched to the new 5L bottle. While I don't think this is a biggie, I would be interested to know what they add to the Oil to make it different from Regular M1.

From Mobil's web site: www.mobiloil.com, the Truck version say:

"It contains extra anti-oxidant, which can provide greater protection against deposit formation in hard-working gasoline trucks, vans, SUVs and recreational vehicles. "

from their web site, you can see the exact specificiation differences. It does not look like anything significant.

I'm hoping you didn't try to squeeze 5 qts into a Prius motor, 3.5 qts is plenty.

The Mobil 1 T&S meets ACEA A5/B5 specs, which specifically cover extended oil change intervals of 24 months/20,000 miles in cars so equipped. Mobil 1 0W-40 "European Car Formula" meets the more demanding ACEA A3/B4 specs for very severe service, and also the extended oil change intervals of BMW (Up to 24 months or 30,000 miles).

From what I have read, there should be no harm by mixing different Mobil 1's.

This is the critical issue.

Especially if you are going to be doing an oil and filter change at the 5,000 mile point.

I had put in 3.5L. THe problem was I put in the last 1.5L from the M1 I used for the 5000mile service and then picked up the M1 T+S for the other 2L and didn't check the label until after I had poured.

As others have posted, there doesn't seem to be anything in the T+S formula that is 'bad'; just additional additives that you probably won't need. Kind of like running premium gas in an engine that was designed for 87 octane....

I don't think I would worry about it much at all (its just one oil change) the only thing I would worry about would be the viscosity.
5W 30 Preferred
10w 30 you will be ok
10w 40 you will be ok
5w 20 you will be ok

if you have something thicker especially as it gets colder I would drain it.
