Friends: 1 | Perhaps! Had you refueled recently? That happened to me once and it turned out to be the gas cap had not been turned on far enough to hear the clicks. The dealer correctly diagnosed the problem. The manual talks about this problem. |

Friends: 0 | Catalytic converters will give out after a certain amount of miles, but it's usually in the 6 figure range. Have you added any 'performance enhancers' to your gas when you fueled the car? Last edited by firepa63; 01-16-2008 at 02:56 PM. |

Friends: 0 | Bring it into the dealer to have it checked out... it should be covered under warranty... I think. I think hybrid/emission components have a 8 year warranty. |

Friends: 1 | Prius2Go The gas cap info is in the manual. I am not near my manual at this time. My gas cap event happened after a refueling in New Jersey in '04. In NJ you are not allowed to refuel your own car and I did not check after the service. About 80 miles down the road toward Virginia the check engine light came on. Car functioned OK so drove on to a Dealer. Was told of the improper cap on possibility. Problem solved and afterwards always go at least 2 clicks when installing the cap and check in those states (NJ and OR) when someone else does my service.
