Friends: 0 | The instrument cluster went out on my '07, well not completely but most of it is lighting up. My question is if I simply order another cluster used on ebay will the mileage remain the same. I see some there with like 100k miles and mine only have 45k. I'm thinking the mileage is saved in the ECM and not the cluster. Anyone ever done this? I dont want to take it to the dealer and have them hack up my dash so I'd like to do it myself as I'm a mechanic to. |

Friends: 44 | The odometer reading is stored within the instrument panel ECU. So if you change the cluster the odometer reading will become whatever the new cluster has. If you buy a new cluster from the dealer it is special ordered so that the new part has the odometer reading from your old cluster. |

Friends: 0 | Are you sure something didn't slide down the dash and is covering part of the display area. The speedometer is not a direct display; you're looking at a mirror reflecting a projected image. |
