Default DIY Plugin? Questions

Im currently working on putting those gen 2 modules into the gen 1 pack, in the end ill have an extra 04-09 prius pack with 28 good gen 1 modules in there, my question is, is it possible to use this pack to supplement the existing 04-09 battery that is in the car? possibly yielding better MPG.

I was thinking hooking the batteries up in parallel, then a user mentioned that the packs would balance each other out. So i was thinking of using a diode so I would just use up the supplemental pack.

Im not sure how to approach this, I also have a charger for the supplemental pack I can retrofit in the car also.
