Friends: 0 | Getting a Prius 3 on Friday. I'm installing a Gentex auto dimming mirror to replace the standard day-night mirror (I know the auto dim is standard on a Prius 4). Is there a conveniently located switched igntiion hot wire, near the mirror so I don't have to hunt around under the dash or fuses? |

Friends: 2 | There should be map lights next to the sunglass holder. |

Friends: 0 | I think map light is constant 12V, not switched 12V, which can be found inside driver-side kick panel. For autodimming, you need switched 12V, not constant 12V. I installed a Homelink/Autodimming Gentax mirror myself on Mazda CX9. All three wires (ground, constant 12V, switched 12V) can be found there. Instructions from Mazda tells ones to connect there, not the map lights. There must be a reason for that. Current load? I don't have Prius wiring diagram, so I can't help you there. |

Friends: 0 | There is a switched 12v wire connected to the map light. It should be brown and goes to a corner pin (pin 7). If you have navigation, this is used by the mic. I just went to the car to test it, if you don't have nav, this wire is not connected. |
