Friends: 0 | I've got another one of those Display Failures in my 2003 prius, which of course is not covered by warranty. I'm in Bunbury (near Perth) and am hoping to hear from anyone who can help me sort this out without being way out of pocket. Does anyone have a corporate contact here in Australia that we might be able to take this issue to? Is the Technical Service Bulletin EL002-05 the only TSB on the MFD or is there another one I can show to the dealers? I cant understand why Toyota, who knows about the problem, will not just extend the warranty out. It's so frustrating, it makes me regret having a Prius. Errr... Thanks in advance for any advice, Cindy |

I think the best way to do it would be to go to a Toyota dealer. Toyota is really good about going ahead and replacing things for free if you talk to them the right way and dont regret owning a Prius = / its the future | |

Friends: 0 | Thanks Patsparks, but that is way to technical for me. Hobbit looks like he has done an awesome job but there is now way I can do any of that. My husband and I are both student teachers so the money for the fix is a real issue. Toyota here does not know anything about this, they just say bring it in for a diagnostic test...could be one or two hours and then they will see. I'm just afraid of being hit with cost after cost. I'd like to bring them as much info as I can showing this is a known issue and that Toyota has taken care of it free...even out of warranty. If there are any cases of that. Cheers. |

Friends: 0 | Update. The largest Toyota dealer in Perth, Australia has never heard of the problem and is quoting $3500 plus labor. Fantastic Toyota... can't wait for our battery to go to. We might as well buy a new car. |
