Friends: 0 | Hey Everyone, I've been lurking here ever since I bought my new 2010 Prius IV but this is my first post. I was curious to know if anyone is running the new Yokohama Super E-Spec tires (LRR made with orange oil) on their 2010 Prius. I'm not 100% thrilled with the Avid S33's that came on the car (too much tramlining) and thought these would be a good replacement. I did a lot of searching prior to posting but I haven't seen any other threads on these tires. I would post a link to these tires on Yokohama's website but Prius Chat won't let you post links until after you've submitted 5 or more posts. Thanks in advance! -Brandon |

I'll do it for you: Yokohama Also - What the heck is 'tramlining???? I had to google: The term "tramlining" is being used to describe when directional control is disrupted by the vehicle's tendency to follow the longitudinal ruts and/or grooves in the road. It's name could be compared to the tram or trolley driver who does not steer because his vehicle follows the path established by the tracks. Any vehicle can exhibit tramlining on certain areas of the highway because of uneven pavement or severe rutting. And all vehicles tramline to some degree rather than obediently following the driver's steering input. For example, there's usually at least a small change in steering resistance felt through the wheel when crossing an uneven expansion joint or asphalt junction during lane changes. Great first post! Welcome aboard.

Friends: 1 | No review yet by TireRack, whom I think does a very good job of giving information on possible tire purchases. Yokohama dB Super E-Spec |

Friends: 0 | Thanks guys! I really appreciate the responses thus far. I did checkout tirerack beforehand which is why I decided to post here. I figured that us hybrid owners would be on the cutting edge with this type of 'green' tire that is supposed to be LRR. I'm planning to get these tires sometime this week via my local Discount Tire. I will report back on my findings and any MPG/handling differences versus the OEM tires. |

Friends: 1 | I am definitely interested in hearing about the differences. For me, in the long run, it will be about finding a tire that also performs "capably" in light snow as well! |

Friends: 0 | Unfortunately these e-spec tires are for summer only and since I live in California, I can get away with that. Hopefully Yokohama will eventually come out with a winter tire that is also eco/LRR friendly. |
