Friends: 0 | Well, I took the leap and had a local installer slap on the Ventureshield today, did the hood, mirrors, bumper, headlights, turn signals, fogs and the lower rocker panels where your feet tend to kick when getting in and out of the car. They did a great job, I had to work the right angles to make the seem show up in the photos, I was unable to notice it during the day without really getting down on it and knowing what to look for... have a look and let me know what you think! |

Friends: 0 | That's really awesome. It looks good, hardly noticeable. I want to, but I'm too lazy to do that for my Prius. |

Friends: 0 | I'll be honest, it was more than I would normally spend... I'm an insurance agent for a very large and known company and thus know the owners of all the body shops in my small town and could likely get a great deal on paint work if I were paying out of pocket... that being said I do drive 40 miles round trip every day and decided that I would just go for it and see how it worked out. I paid $749 for the entire front end and then it was $50 more to do the lower rocker panels. They did nice though, the rocker strips start at the bottom of the front fender and go all the way back to just in front of the rear wheel, they wrap up into the inner door seal where the painted surface meets the plastic interior piece that says Prius.. $50 well spent in all likelyhood. So, my total price was $799.. not terrible but not cheap.. |

Friends: 0 | i had 3m film on my 2005 outback 3.0r, hood only. wish i had it on the bumper also. when you wax your car put a strip of painters tape along the exposed edge. this way you wont get a white wax build-up. never work near or hit the edges or they can slightly bunch up making the line more visable. also spray the black plastic with tire foam or 303 protectant before you wax. it leaves a coating that the wax can't stick to. nothing worse than a white haze on the black plastic. |

Friends: 2 | Curious how this product compares with the 3M product. I understand the 3M product has a 5 year warranty. Thanks- |

Friends: 0 | Very nice. I asked about the rocker panels when I had mine done and I guess they did not have the patterns at the time... congrats! Quote:

Friends: 0 | Well the rocker panels are pretty flat surfaces. I hadn't really considered doing them when I had my car done, but I suppose that it would be one one the easier DIY projects to attempt with a couple strips of bulk film to cover the wear surfaces. |
