Friends: 0 | So I have had Ventureshield on my car since about 2 weeks after I purchased it (late August this year) and it has been awesome, for the most part. Recently after washing the car I was down drying the front bumper area and noticed some pretty decent marks in the Ventureshield. These were really strange marks, they basically looked like someone took an eraser and struck it across the bumper. There was no color to the marks, they were just streaks that were dull and technically about twice as wide as an eraser. I tried and tried to get them out, Plexus, wax, etc.. and no luck! So, I called the company that installed the VS and explained the situation to them. They had no answer and tried to heat it up with a heat gun to allow the material to smooth itself out. Still no luck they told me that they would call VS and let me know. I was getting anxious for an answer so I decided to call VS and explain the situation. This is what they told me so if you have or are going to get VS please PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PART: In talking to the rep. at VS I explained what the marks looked like and how I found them, the best we could figure was that the rubber hose (during car wash) had brushed up against or rubbed the bumper. He told me that rubber and the VS are a big no no. He advised that it was in fact designed to withstand rock shots and what not but abrasion, especially from something rubber would likely cause damage that is not repairable. Luckily VS has agreed with my installer to take care of this as an exception and I will be getting a new front bumper piece installed under warranty. Long story short, I was not happy that this seemingly undestructible front shield was damaged by the hose. I am typically very careful when washing the car and still don't remember the hose brushing against it but it seems like the only logical explanation. VS did stand behind their product and that means a lot to me, just wanted to share this story with everyone both as a what not to do with your VS and about how the company treated me. |
