Look at my post - install the GPS antenna in the Squaker area (tweeter) - it takes minutes, and works flawlessly.

Will definitely consider that. Reception will most likely be better. I know that there is an area reserved for the antenna (with clips to snap everything in place). I'll decide where to put it once I get the parts.

I'll be busy in the next few weeks so I'll put this on hold for a bit. Will post some pics once I open the dash, and get an exact list of the parts I need. I'll start hunting for parts then.

So, for those who are following this thread, have fun and start your Christmas shopping early. We'll tackle this in a few weeks

Frenchie knows all about the original spot - he actually removed the whole dash (BIG job), and ended up placing his antenna in a different spot also (because he could see a better location). Good luck!

Cool Re: Installing the OEM NAV on a non-NAV equipped Prius

Are you talking about HUD system (Head Up Display)?
If yes, all the Prius sale in Belgium have it. Have a glance at :

features and after 'style intérieur ...'
I think that best is to put your question directly with the manufacturer; I am persuaded that you will obtain an answer.

Best regards,
Guy

Would you have any pictures of your install? I'm haveing no luck here finding nav or options to add to my Prius IV

OK, so lets try to get this thing back on the OP's rails.....

COST AND QUALITY ASIDE, what are the technical barriers between a II, III, and having OEM nav?

-I have a II so the JBL seperate amp would be an issue, but would a substitute amp in place make the OEM NAV possible?

-Would the 6 vs. 8 speakers present any major problems in the function of the NAV audio software?

-What peripherals are necessary for an OEM nav to function properly? (does a II need a mic installed for bluetooth via the NAV HU? GPS antenna? Backup camera? anything else im missing)?

There isn't now, but will likely be a market for used 2010 nav's. so lets try to get ready if this route becomes a financially feasible route.
