1. press Setup button (right of nav screen)
2. touch Audio (onscreen button)
3. touch Bluetooth Audio Settings (onscreen button)
4. touch Edit (onscreen button) for Passcode
5. enter same passcode as used for iphone (default 1212?)
6. touch OK (onscreen button) to go back to Bluetooth Audio Settings
7. touch Register (onscreen button) for Bluetooth Audio
8. on iphone, start bluetooth search (settings, general, bluetooth)
9. on iphone, highlight car multimedia (probably 2nd device found) and press connect
10. on iphone, enter the passcode

Probably doesn't matter whether you press register on car first, or bluetooth searching on iphone first. I don't remember for sure if I got an in use message, but if I did, it didn't matter. Once I restarted the car, it connected for both phone and audio player. I also don't know if changing the passcode is really necesary, but I did it based on someone else's post. Other people have said they deleted the phone and setup bluetooth audio first, which resulted in pairing the iphone for both audio and phone at once.
ggood - Thanks for the info. As you can see, I got there by experimenting. My mistake was making the phone connection first.

Thanks again. --TK

This surprised me, so I did some research and found this excellent description of the functionality of the Blu Logic add on accessory (for the model II):

Also, it was a breeze to upload my contacts from the iPhone to the Prius.
I swear that I read that the release of the beta iPhone 3.1 SDK in the last few days pointed to improvements in either AVRCP or A2DP Bluetooth support. But now I can't find the reference anywhere.

This would be nice, because we should be able to get better control from the Nav touchscreen over the connected iPod Touch/iPhone.

We're using the BT connection now for both my wife's and my Touches. It's a bit awkward to switch between the two, because you have to go to the settings screen to switch to your iPod, if the other one was used last.

Also, for Podcasts, the audio jumps back to the start of the track when you power off the car. This is pretty annoying for a podcast listener, because you have to manually find where you were at the next time the car starts up. For music, it's not a problem to start a track over. But, at least switching off the car turns off the iPod. If you attach using the audio cable, the iPod keeps running when the car is off.

And finally, my Motorola KRZR K1M contact list didn't import, even though the calling BT connection works fine.

I played around with it a bit tonight and can only get the phone working via Bluetooth. This is without the nav package on a 2010 Prius III. I figured no need for Nav when I have it on my phone. I don't care a ton about stereo since the aux jack works but it would be nice anyway especially if controls worked. I do wish I could enter textual names to show when people call me. The phone number means nothing in this day and age to most and that's all that displays. Seems short sighted to me. Or it's there and I missed it (which would be embarrassingly awesome),

Mrolfer has a model II which means he has port installed bluetooth not the jbl bluetooth for non navs.

I had a hard time pairing my iPhone 3G with my 2010 III w/ nav until I followed the instructions here. But, unlike many of you, I am underwhelmed with audio quality for BT streaming. I find the iPhone via Kensington LiquidAUX to Aux port sounds much better. BT streaming sounds like 96kbps mp3s, even when I am listening to 256kpbs AACs. I have fairly good hearing, but would not call myself an audiophile, and find there to be a very big difference. Is anything wrong with my BT streaming?

There was another thread about this that I commented on in the electronics section. It seems like its an apple problem and not so much a car audio problem. Still waiting on someone to confirm with a different device, i.e. non ipod or iphone.

I have not done it myself (because my audio gateway trial on my Palm Treo 700p expired) so I personally cannot say for certain, but others have clearly and unambiguously refuted your claim that one needs to have factory NAV equipped to stream music.

EDIT: and, apparently, they are WRONG.

If you find the music streaming information in your post is 100% incorrect for a fact (as I and other's who've posted that they've played music via BT without NAV installed), please make a note in ON YOUR POST in case this is all the father someone happens to read in the thread, especially since it's the last post on the first page.

TIA
Hi - there is nothing in the manual or in the marketing info that indicates bluetooth streaming on the non-nav system is possible. I've seen one ambiguous post from someone claiming to have done it, but they never posted instructions on how they did it or a follow up post confirming that they had actually done it. Have you actually done it, and/or can you provide instructions, or a link to instructions, on how to do it (without using a 3rd party dongle)? Thanks.

There was a guy in another post that said he did it but only after putting in an aftermarket part
