I got a Prius II with the BluLogic (Bluetooth), and the current phone used in pairing with the car is a Samsung SGH-t339. I am able to make phone calls by dialing on my phone, but what I really want to do is to make call using the voice recognition system. When I was reading the manual, it stated that I need a phone with voice tagging capablity. Could anyone elaborate on this? Second, how do I transfer my contacts or is it not possible with the BluLogic?

The Toyota Site is far from comprehensive. That being said, my Blackberry Curve 8900 works very well. I believe this phone is now available on AT&T's network. If you desire 3G, try the Bold instead.

I have the Curve 8900 on T-Mobile's network and the phone works very well with the Prius, including contact transfers, voice quality, and audio streaming compatibility. With an 8GB MicroSD (SDHC) card, I'm able to store plenty of music and have enough room left over for the 3.2 Megapixel photos it takes. With autofocus and "flash", the photos turn out pretty well for a phone camera.

I absolutely love my iphone (3g) not the new one and it works great in my honey's prius (2008). It is such a flexible useful tool. I highly recommend it (former verizon user).

Good to know, HTMLSpinnr. I have the 8900 also, but on AT&T. This will be my first car with Bluetooth, so I hope it works well. :-)

If it were on a different carrier, I'd consider it. Others may not feel that way though

I would appreciate any opinions/tips folks could offer me. I am a t-mobile prepaid customer and quite happy with this service. I have a handset without bluetooth now and wish to get a new phone to make use of the hands-free features of my Prius IV. Here are the models t-mobile (prepaid) offers which claim bluetooth functionality:

Samsung t239 ($60)
Samsung t429 ($50)
Samsung t349 ($100)
Nokia 3555 ($50)

Are any of these handsets likely to work well with my Prius IV? Are there particular bluetooth-related features I should be looking for?

I decided to give the Nokia 3555 a try. The t-mobile rep. said they have a 30 day return policy if it doesn't work well with my car. I'll report back once I receive the phone and test it.

"on the Chocolate?? what version is it? the site above says it works with all versions except that the 8500 and 8550 dont support multiple entries (iow, more than one # for a single name entry). if your phone is not working, you might want to make sure you have the latest flash upgrade (this requires you to take to store to connect to their machine). the Chocolate was a work in progress the entire time it was available (which means it was a piece of garbage) so multiple updates were released to fix one bug after another."

Thanks Dave!!!

I have the chocolate 8550 and was SO MAD that it wouldn't transfer my contact list!! It's only a year and a half old! I will take it in and make them upgrade it for me. Wohoo!
