Default Suggestion for aftermarket in-dash GPS/Media player?

Hey there,
I just got my 2010 Prius II and love it. I am starting to research aftermarket media systems with not much avail.
I am looking for something to replace the factory cd player (I don't have the nav system) that handles gps, dvd, audio, and has a video input.

Should I be looking for a DIN or DOUBLE DIN media system?
Do I need special mounting equiptment for DIN?
Is there a way to preserve the functionality of the steering wheel playback controls?

I really appreciate the help.

-Ari

I'm in the same boat. On Crutchfield is says only a DUAL and CLARION GPS/DVD player would fit a 2010 but a car audio installer said that the radio looked to be the same size as a 09 Camry (Can anyone verify this?) thus you could use a mounting kit for the Camry.
I'm looking at a kenwood dnx5140. If you want Bluetooth I'd look at a 6140. To keep your steering wheel controls it requires an adapter, probably around $75.
Keep us posted.

I'm probably going to replace mine with the Pioneer AVIC-U310BT. Just waiting on the dash kits to become available.

I've been hunting down this same info over the past few days. Consensus I've received is don't expect aftermarket dash kits anytime soon probably close to 12 months from release of the new Prius.

Don't trust your selections to Crutchfield recommendations as their website currently shows the front door speakers for the 2010 Prius as 6.5 instead of the proper 6x9. I'm betting they have just transferred over the info from the 2009 Prius, instead of properly updating it for the 2010.

I just talked to someone at Metra (the company that creates the dash kits for Crutchfield). They said 2-3 months.

Whatever that's worth.

By the way, the Prius dash opening is smaller than the 09 camry. Looks like we'll just have to wait it out.

Anybody going to do the install themselves?

I'm planning to do a swap out the factory head unit soon. Currently, working on a subwoofer box first. One catastrophic project at a time.

The opening appears to be 2.5 din spaces high (125mm). So most of the aftermarket double-din units should fit, looking only at height and width. I recall that many of the Mercedes Comand units were 2.5 din spaces high, but I don't see any aftermarket nav units that big. The Prius possibilities seem pretty good, aside from electrical interface concerns.
