1. Mounting the GPS Antenna under the left front speaker cover doesn't seem perfect to me because the speaker has a little bump and is no longer flush with the dash. I seem to have the exact same antenna piece as rrolff. I even removed a nut from the speaker to make room and there is still a bump. Was there a bump for you?

2. Any tips on wiring a backup camera through the car to the hatchback? I can get it as far as the back seat but no further.

Thanks for the help!
To wire the backup camera you need to pull all of the panels in the inside hatchback. (The panels on hatchback glass area) The one at the back of the hatch comes off first. You will see a rubber hose with wires running through it at the top of inside hatchback. Run your wires through there then along down the side of the hatch.

You will also need to unbolt the rear trim panel above license plate. This is the piece you will mount your camera to. It unbolts from inside.

You also need to remove the plastic panels on the inside of the cargo area on the left side so you can get at backup light wiring so you can tap in.

Gotcha, thanks for the tip! It seems every part of that car comes off plug and play, and luckily I managed to not break anything yet.

My hangup is trying to get through the back seat. I think I'm just going to go through the seat fold, which should keep the cable hidden, even if its not totally obscured.

Update: I believe I didn't plug in the very long plastic panel that contains the airbag/seatbelt lights and fan directors. The car might be registering this as a problem with the airbag, so I have to check it out. I'll have to remove everything for that so I'm not doing it until the next time I need to open it. Anyway I'm sure thats the airbag problem.

I'm loving the Din. I wish the software was less buggy and worked as intended, but what does work is super feature rich. I'm putting a modded xbox1 under the passenger seat to plug into the system's aux soon, which is one of the main reasons I got this.

I emailed the seller with questions on upgrading software, using their music player (playlists, random etc) and winCE questions. I'd love to find some winCE homebrew to add to this thing.

I am using a shoddy piece of cardboard instead of a trim since I'm not going to buy the $130 trim on ebay any time soon. Looks ugly, but it'll protect everything, and I don't care about looks much anyway.

rrolff, Frenchie - Thanks for all the damn good advice!

Here is where I mounted my nav antenna. 3m double sided tape keeps it snug. Hardly noticeable.

Keep in mind - there is almost no chance of finding an aftermarket trim that is cheap. There is no reason for a company to make one. The ones coming out will be specifically designed to fit a 180x100 2din - you have a 200x100 2din. So you must buy the trim at some point...

I bought a video switcher (with remote) Manufacturer:DYNEX
Mfg Item Number:
DX-CVS4 - Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350254319357&ssPageNam e=STRK:MEWNX:IT . Cost was $12.50 delivered - it allows A/V switching for 3 sources, can be remote mounted. Then you can add DTV , and a PS3.... It runs on 12VDC too....

Yep, that's what I ended up doing. Its exposed, but who cares.

rrolff - I know that there isn't any place to buy it now, but I'm still going to wait until dash kits become available and compare prices.
