Default Blu Logic with multiple phones

I'm looking to install the Blu Logic bluetooth option in my 2010 Prius and would partner it with multiple phones.

The Blu Logic website indicates it's a manual process to switch between phones, but my Toyota dealer is telling me Blu Logic will recongnize when the second paired phone is in the car instead of the first, and will automatically switch.

So, if I have been in the car using my phone via Blu Logic, and later my wife takes the car out for a drive, the dealers claim is her phone will automatically be recognized with no action on her part.

My question....is there anyone out there using multiple phones with Blu Logic and how does this work for you? Do you need to manually change phones (by telling bluetooth on the 2nd phone to connect) if you want to change phones from the last one that was connected.?

I don't know what blu logic is, but my factory equipped Prius will not automatically switch phones, you have to do it manually.

I also have the factory installed JBL with Bluetooth, but am incredibly frustrated with the fact you need to go 5 levels deep in the voice menu to switch the phone, and I would like the car's voice recognition to get out of the way so I can use the voice recognition on my phone (Windows Mobile).

But, today I found out Blu Logic is not compatilble with the JBLs, so it's a moot point.

If you know of a quicker way to switch phones on the factory unit I would be greatful for the information.

Right now I do "Setup-->Phone Setup-->Select Phone-->"phone name"--> Confirm.

Seems like Toyota could have at least made "Select Phone" a top level menu item.

Is there a shortcut?

It actually does switch phones if the one set is not detected.

I don't think so, but I don't think I have ever been in the car without my phone, so I'll have to try that. Logic would say that it would pair with whatever phone that was available that it had been paired with before, but logic does not always dictate.
Geez, my cheap Garmin Nav will, you would think the car would too, but the phone book in it's entirety is downloaded automatically in the Garmin too, and the car doesn't do that does it?

We have to go to our bluetooth menu on each of our phones to reconnect it after the other has connected it. For example, if I have been driving and using the bluetooth, then when my husband wants to drive and use his phone, he has to click on his phone bluetooth menu and hit the blulogic name in the menu to reconnect. This kicks my phone out and I have to do the same with mine the next time I want to use it.

I've been frustrated by my 2010 non-nav JBL's inability to switch phones in an easy way. My unit certainly does not automatically switch. Like wanje, I need to go down five levels deep into the setup. I just tried blue bird's interesting method of initiating the connection on the phone itself (instead on from the head unit), but that didn't work with my iPhone.

And the voice command system only barely works for other functions. Even the Blackberry I had six years ago could do "dial by name" for every one of my 700 contacts.

This is my first new car, so I'm shocked at something the rest of you probably take for granted. The software in the audio unit isn't updatable. What we bought is what we got. That used to be standard on other complex devices too. But now cell phones and iPods and even cameras are regularly updated and improved.

The Toyota voice command system seems like such an afterthought, poorly executed. The system cost me at least $1,000, as the difference between the package II and package III. For that money, I expected a lot more.

aaronfreimark, I'm right there with you. I was somewhat interested in the upgraded audio, but the thing that pushed me over the top to go with the package III was the bluetooth integration. It's a very poor implementation. I've been trying to set up my phonebook and that has also been very frustrating. "Sarah - Mobile" sounds too much like "Sarah - Home"? Give me a break. It's not even the same number of syllables. Windows Mobile voice recognition blows the doors off the "state-of-the-art" voice recognition built into the Prius. But, alas, I can't get directly to my phones voice recognition because the Prius voice command is in the way.

I'm working on options with my dealer, but no luck yet.

I have Blu Logic in mine. (no JBL) I've paired my phone, an LG LX570 with great success. When I paired my wife's phone, an HTC Touch Pro, I paired successfuly. I next wanted to pair each of my child's phones, but discovered my wife's overroad my pairing and had to repair mine with the car. Blu Logic instructions say I can pair up to 7 phones at one time. I think that is what I have to do, pair all 4 at one time. I have yet to do that as my wife very rarely drives the car and the kids aren't in it very long, but that would be fun to listen to thier conversations in the cabin!
