Default Genuine Toyota Navs (w/JBL) available on Ebay

Was looking around, and found a few real Toyota navs (models E7007 and E7009). They look like they'd fit perfectly if you get the European surround...

Just FYI - they seem to run around $600.

Search toyota GPS on Ebay...

Thank you for the heads up. Are you considering buying one? I wonder if my non-nav XM radio kit would plug right in? This looks like you would just plug the whole thing in. How would it being JBL effect us who didn't have a JBL system?

I am running aftermarket HU. The Toyota is definitely not for me (I like my nav etc).

This was just FYI - you will need to do the leg work. I am pretty sure JBL means you will need a matching JBL amp - which runs to 8 speakers. Search the threads, someone has already attempted this (or is going to).

I think the newer version (7009) has a port for Sat/Ipod - not sure - again, you need to research it. They are made by Eclipse.

Why not go with the latest gen Nav from Fujitsu Ten (maker of Toyota GPS)? Eclipse AVN726E is flash based (maps are not in DVD) with fast graphics including 3D building is like $800. It also include bluetooth, good amp, live traffic, plays DVD and DiVX, etc...

Do you notice that Crutchfield indicates that this unit won't fit a 2010 Prius?

This does not have any of the side touch buttons - which make it look OEM - or function similarly.

Point of my post is you can get a similar Toyota nav at a fraction of the nav price. You will need to get the surround plastic from Europe, and verify it fits - but it seems it will.

You can buy the whole thing in the $700 range - and get a nice OEM feel...

Personally, if I wasn't so liking my nav, I'd jump on this in a heart beat - but it already happened (the beat)...

Yea, none of the Navi they carry fit 2010 or the Iconic Priuses. Some modification may be needed. The good thing with the Eclipse Navi is that the steering wheel controls are plug-n-play.

You have a valid point for those who want the OEM look and functionality. Recently, I was looking at AVN726E so I thought I mention it for people to think about alternative.

The AVN726E screen is bigger (7") so there is only space at the bottom for the buttons. You can only choose two colors (red or blue) for the buttons; not sure how much the blue will go together with other 2010 buttons.

Thanks for the tip... I ran a quick search and saw this unit. Do you think this unit could simply replace the unit I have in my 2010 package II (without the surround, etc)? I assume it would since it looks exactally like what I have.

Thanks,
Peter
