Default Software mod to allow while-moving Nav and Phone.

On the 8.1 (or 9.1) NavDVD there are many files (using about 7.5 GB of space).

One can load these files onto a PC. Then, one could look at the "control" files
to find a hidden setting, option, or maybe even a "patch" that would defeat
the while-moving" inhibitions?

Has anybody tried this "software" approach?

I just made a hybrid DVD with the 5.1 loading.kwi. Haven't tried to reload the loading.kwi yet but the new hybrid DVD map portion is working fine.

You might want to see if this thread answers your questions: Navigation Input Override (Speed Sensor Bypass)

I don't believe anyone was able to get a software mod to work.

I had no luck with the hybrid disk when I tried it... the 5.1 loading.kwi file did not seem to work with the Gen6 nav unit, as far as I could tell

That's not to say that someone couldn't hack the file and remove the lockout, but disassembling and hacking the code is way beyond me.

Workaround for navigation override (bypass) for 2007 ISx50 - Club Lexus Forums - an excellent explanation on how to burn and change DVDs.

I believe the whole problem is we do not have an original "good" firmware with the old "backdoor"...

No luck with the hybrid disc..the 5.1 loading.kwi will not load when doing the fuse trick. I also made a backup copy of the 9.1 DVD and the backup one is loading fine. I am gonna mess around with the backup copy and see what it does.
