Friends: 0 | So, this explains it. I ordered a cargo net from juicedhybrid (rather than going to the dealer) but got a call that Toyota stopped making them because they were defective. I did my best to figure out just HOW a simple cargo net could be defective, but the pictures show that where the cargo net attaches is defective. Thanks for posting this thread and all the updates, guys! Now, I just need to be patient until the fix comes out. I was never all that patient though! |

Friends: 1 | I'm glad they are going to take their time and (hopefully) find a good fix. I would hate to pull the side panels off of my new Prius just because I put a bowling ball in my cargo net. |

Friends: 0 | Looks more like a side panel issue not being securely bolted down and the net pretty much pulls it out of place. |

Friends: 0 | The person took all the info and said they would look into . Next morning my dealer called and asked me to come in .I left the car so they could figure something out .A rep actually got to see my car and took pics of the separation of the plastic. That was where it ended Nothing was done and nothing will be done until corporate sends down an OK to fix it. My dealer will not touch it till then Hope Toyota figures out something soon I realy use the net. |

Friends: 0 | I picked up my car yesterday and it came with a cargo net. (I didn't order one, it just came that way.) I just ran outside to check it and yes, when you tug on it, it does pull the plastic side panels out. So my car must have shipped before Toyota made the cargo net unavailable. Hopefully there will be a recall on this. |

Friends: 0 | Thanks. I was thinking of ordering the Cargo Net but now believe I will wait until they get this fixed. I assume that the dealer can install one just as well as the port. |

Friends: 0 | Just picked my my Prius 3 this Am. Cargo net was ordered but was not installed. Dealer told me it's backordered. Probably due to the fact that Toyota has caught on to the problem and has held up selling until a fix is in place.. |

Friends: 0 | I suppose if this becomes one of the few "glitches" in the 2010 we'd have to say good job Toyota. However on the other hand this really seems like something Toyota should of caught before release. How do you NOT notice the panel separation? How do you NOT test a cargo net holding cargo, and cargo of different weights? Judging from the pictures this isn't really even a subtle problem, it's pretty obvious and manifests almost immediately with cargo net useage. I'm glad Toyota is evidently working towards a solution, but curtailing availabilty is just a reaction not a solution. This is why I'm glad I didn't race to be one of the 1st with the 2010's. Dealing with minutia on a problem like this can be very time consuming. Let me know when Prius is in harmony with Cargo net.

Friends: 0 | I also noticed this problem and was disappointed about the whole cargo net design. I removed the net because I was not using it and was just getting in the way. Once this problem is resolved by Toyota (Somebody was not spending enough time in the Obeya* room) I'll get it fixed. Thanks for the info. * Read the Toyota Product Development System by Jeffrey Liker. I work for an American Fortune 100 company and we are coping Toyota's product development model. There is some info about the Prius I development in that book. |
